The Manipur dispute is an ethnic conflict between the Meitei and Kuki ethnic communities in the Indian state of Manipur.   The dispute began in May 2023 and has claimed the lives of over 180 people.   The dispute is rooted in animosity between the two communities over land and influence.   The Meitei community is predominantly Hindu, while the Kuki community is predominantly Christian.  The dispute has displaced thousands of people.
